On his recent trip to Australia for Sydney Bar Week, Cocktail Kingdom founder Greg Boehm said that his new bar, Golden Cadillac, is opening soon.
Boehm was in Australia promoting Cocktail Kingdom Australia, the local arm of his popular, high-end bar equipment business and its first store outside of New York.
The bar will be on 1st Avenue in NYC’s East Village, and Boehm is working with renowned NYC bartender Giuseppe Gonzalez (ex-PKNY, Clover Club, and whose drink, the Trinidad Sour, we offered a riff on back in October’s issue) and will highlight classic drinks from every period of great bartending — including the 1970’s.
The new bar has been years in the making and will no doubt be a destination for boozehounds the world over.
With a cocktail book collection like Boehm’s and the bar equipment of Cocktail Kingdom, this is going to be one good-looking, well resourced bar — and one that is reportedly opening early next week.
