Downstairs
83 Stanley Street, Darlinghurst

Last year we brought you news that East Sydney’s Hazy Rose — the art deco cocktailing den on Stanley Street — was expanding into the downstairs shop with their take on a Brit gastropub. They’ve delivered, with Downstairs opening late last year.
There’s a cracking wine list for you to get stuck into (and they know a thing or two about that here), a little courtyard out the back and a swag of proper rich gastropub fare — think sticky pigs cheeks, main dish meats with accompanying sweetbreads and black pudding, and a regular Sunday roast that’s attracted many of Sydney’s hospo community already.
If you’re lucky you might nab some Yorkshire puds, too.
