Dust settles after the Great Whisky Rumble

GREAT-WHISKY-RUMBLEPhotos: Life Without Andy

Now that the dust has begun to settle after last week’s Great Whisky Rumble in Sydney, get a look at some of the images from the night.

On Tuesday night last week, a huge crowd turned out to watch a whisky tasting showdown unlike any other. In town for the night — and in the boxing ring (more on that in a minute) — was Fred Noe, the seventh generation master distiller of Jim Beam; John Campbell, the distillery manager of Laphroaig; Canadian Club Whisky’s master ambassador, Dan Tullio; and global ambassador for Suntory Whisky, Mike Miyamoto.

The crowd was treated to great cocktails to start the night, before a boxing ring was revealed. In the ring, two fighters traded jabs, before emcee for the evening, The Drink Cabinet’s Dylan Howarth, rallied the crowd for the main event: the four whisky masters, representing Scotland, America, Japan, and Canada, entered the ring to decide which country produced the best whisky.

They tasted and talked their way through each of their whiskies, before leaving it up to the gathered crowd to decide which they preferred best.

The whisky masters left the ring, and the crowd was treated to an electrifying performance by The Preatures. Check out the pics form the event below.
