The latest venture from the Merivale stable of venues, The Newport, is due to open the doors to the public this Good Friday, March 25.

The Newport opens on the site of the former Newport Arms, which has been a cornerstone social hub for many Sydney’s northern beaches for generations.

“The Newport is at the heart of so many wonderful memories in the local community, so it is incredibly important for us to honour this as we create the new chapter in its history,” said Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes.

“With its sprawling grounds, magnificent landscaping and team of over 450 passionate locals, this is one of the biggest ventures we have ever undertaken. We are so excited and proud to finally open the first phase.”

What can you expect when the doors open? A vibe that draws upon influences from seaside destinations like The Hamptons, Montauk, and the Mediterranean, and a wide array of dining options from The Burger Shack, classic fish and chips, and heartier dishes like brisket, barbecue chicken and pizzas from their in-house Vinnie’s Pizza. Drinks-wise, there’ll be frozen options like the Yuzu (which you may recall from Ms.G’s, Pina Coladas, and other drinks that are “all drinks made to sip as the sun sets over the peninsula,” according to a Merivale statement.
