Gin has exploded in popularity in recent years, with waves of new and interesting gins arriving on these shores from overseas and new Australian distilleries spreading like wildfire.

And you’ll find some 26 gin distillers gathering in Melbourne come October, when the inaugural Australian instalment of Junipalooza comes to town.

The event is being hosted by the UK’s Gin Foundry along with Melbourne’s The Gin Queen, Caroline Childerley at The Meat Market on October 22nd and October 23rd and offers a chance to sample a wide array of top-flight gin from Australia and around the world. The event has run for three years in the UK, and this is the first show they’ll be doing overseas.

You can expect to see a number of Australian distilleries taking part in the festivities, with the likes of Four Pillars (NSW), The West Winds (WA), Hippocampus Metropolitan Distillery (WA), Melbourne Gin Company, Poor Tom’s, Young Henry’s, and many more coming to town.
