Sydney Bar Week (September 17—20) is shaping up to be a huge four days (a week would be too much) with a jam-packed timetable announced. And one of those events promising to be one heck of a party is Bourbon St.
The event is all about the Bourbon Shakedown — get along to the party to watch seven top bartenders (Max Greco, Sunnie Frain, Josh Nicholson, Ella Rhodes, Nick Cozens, Dale Schoon, Matt Follent, Kate McGraw, and Charlie Lehmann) take on seven ambassadors: Matt Barnett, Erica Richards, Michael Nouri, Dan Woolley, Bill Bewsher, Luke Hanzlicek, Brendon Rogers, Rory Donnelly, and Kenny Ariaens.

Another year on….Bar Week is drawing near.
Now… adhereing to legislation and RSA regulations we do not condone, encourage nor support random acts of violence.. actually any acts of violence to be honest. However, there will be a BOURBON SHAKEDOWN this year.
What is a Shakedown you ask?
Well Urban Dictionary (and we all know how reliable and clean they are) defines it as:
SHAKEDOWN: Another word for extortion/blackmail, or the obtaining of a good or service through means of force, threats/intimidation, or abuse of power.
Ok so without the means of force, or abuse, and maybe even threats The Blend is hosting A Bourbon Shakedown.
Ambassadors VS Bartenders, in a race against the clock. A relay, even Usain would be outperformed in. This will be a test of memory, skill, speed, and showmanship.
There will be poor banter. There will be debauchery. There will be delicious drinks to consume while you’re being entertained of the shenangigans that take place before you.
I cannot confirm nor deny that there will be nudity.
There will be delectable and flavoursome american food also for your consumption.
So get yourself down to Surlys (upstairs) during Bar Week from 8pm to 10pm to see it all unfold.
Our esteemed panel of judges Phil Bayly, Tom Estes, Mikey Enright, Sam Bygrave, Paige Aubort will be on the sidelines, scrutinising their every move.
