The Barangaroo development on the Sydney CBD’s western edge has seen some great popups — Restaurant Noma came to town there, and Belle’s Chicken and Gin & It made a memorable time of their short stay down at the site — and there’s more great hospitality on the way. The latest to open in the precinct is this new Sydney venue Bel & Brio.
It’s kind of like a one stop shop for those who give a damn about their food and drink: the venue is part-grocery, part-cellars, part-restaurant and bar.
The bar side of things is what we’re interested in here; led by James Snelgrove (whom you may have last seen at Button in Surry Hills), they’re presiding over a concise cocktail list which draws on both classics and more modern creations (cue the cold-pressed juice), and putting a big emphasis on whiskey with their own seasonal list.
