Whisky geeks Yao Wong and Kelvin Low are set to open a new whisky-focused bar on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy in December.
Called The Elysian Whisky Bar, Wong describes it as “a small cosy neighbourhood whisky and cocktail bar with a focus on seasonal and classic cocktails, a small selection of rotating craft beers, tasty wines, and a backbar of very well curated whiskies.”
The two bartenders, who you may know from their time at well-renowned Melbourne bar, Whisky & Alement, plan to stock between 300 and 350 whiskies that Wong tells us “will feature predominantly independent bottlings of scotch whiskies with more than a handful of rare whiskies from around the world thrown in as well.”
The Elysian Whisky Bar is set to open at 113 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy near the corner of Gertrude St and Brunswick St, in early December.
