The White Negroni Daiquiri is what happens when two of your favourite drinks collide

White Negroni Daiquiri
What happens when two of your favourite drinks collide?

We’ve been partial to a White Negroni for some time now — the earthy, gentian character of Suze, gin, and Lillet being a noble twist on the Negroni in its own right — and we’re on record as being ardent fans of a Daiquiri.

Mary White of The Lobo Plantation showed us this hybrid of the two drinks for our November issue: the White Negroni Daiquiri.

Yes, it does what it says it will on the tin. It’s one of those drinks, White told us, that comes about when you’re hanging about at the bar after a shift. Should one have a Daiquiri, or a Negroni?

Why not, as the El Paso girl might say, have both?

Here, the Bacardi Carta Blanca stands in for gin, lemon is in place of lime, and the Suze provides an earthy spine running throughout the drink; orange bitters ties it all together.

Take a look at the specs for the drink below.

White Negroni Daiquiri

  • 30ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
  • 15ml Suze
  • 15ml Lillet Blanc
  • 30ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml sugar syrup
  • 3 dashes of orange bitters

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a twist.
