Baron’s might be lost, but a new offering called Beach Haus – whilst world’s apart from said hang – aims to be a new home for drinkers feeling similarly displaced by the evolution of Kings Cross.

The Flavour Merchants’ – aka the Hawthorn Brewing Company – are proud to announce the release their second beer, a full-flavoured Amber Ale. The Hawthorn Amber Ale follows the successful launch of the company’s first brew Hawthorn Pale Ale with a third release still promised for later in the year.

Ultrapour’s Professional Announces Finalists

Suntory’s Ultrapour team have been busily scouring Australian bars for the nation’s most professional barkeeps to compete in the final of Ultrapour’s Professional bartending challenge. The competition, that was last year taken out by Hemmesphere’s Sébastien Derbomez, offers five finalists the chance to compete for a European bar and distillery tour valued at over 10,000 dollars.

World Class Announces Australian Champ

June 8 saw the Australian final of the year long World Class program. Over two gruelling days 10 bartenders selected from three rounds of the World Class Program – The Ketel One Vodka Martini Awards, The Tanqueray No. Ten Classic Cocktail Awards and the World Class Dark Spirits Experience – battle it out to see who will represent Australia in the World Class Global Final held in Athens this month.

Australian World Class Finalists Announced!

With the completion of the third and final component of the Australian leg of Reserve’s year long World Class program 10 finalists have been announced to compete for a spot to take on 24 of the world’s best bartenders. The final is set to be held next Tuesday in Sydney.
