Having opened for friends and family in late November, Brisbane’s own Sake Restaurant & Bar opened its doors to the general public just in time for the Christmas rush. Serving up contemporary Japanese cuisine at the Eagle Street Pier venue, the team looks set to take charge in the same style as they have done in Sydney. Executive Chef Shaun Presland (a native Brisbanite) is returning to his old stomping ground and bringing with him an outstanding a la carte menu.

Along side Presland is Head Chef Shinichi Maeda – of Wasabi Restaurant. Maeda will add his touches to help produce a sensational bar menu as well as seasonal additions to the restaurants offerings. The food menu has been suitable matched with a unique selection of shochu varieties and ‘Kozaemon’ sake – all staff have been trained in sake appreciation so it might be worth asking for their advice if you’re new to the product. The bar is also serving up a range of sake and shochu cocktails that are a great match for the Otsumami menu. Translating to ‘snacks to go with alcohol’, it would be a sure bet to visit.
