The Curious Squire
10 O’Connell Street, North Adelaide

The Curious Squire has taken up residence on the site where Sparrow used to be, and is going all in on beer.
Given it is a collaboration with the James Squire Brewery, expect to see a large list of Lion beers on tap and certainly all the James Squire range. The drinks list is divided into two sections, one for beer and cider, and one named “not beer” (that is, a surprisingly good selection of wine).
Food is a major focus and designed to go well with the hearty array of beers, and it is nice to see that rabbit gets a run on the BBQ rabbit pizza from the wood fired oven.
An earlier version of this article said incorrectly that the Curious Squire had taken over the Crown & Sceptre site
The Curious Squire is no where near the site of the Crowne and Sceptre was/still is (despite being closed)- the Curious Squire has taken over ‘Sparrow’ which was owned by the same people who used to own Grace the Establishment and The Manse restaurant on Tynte St in North Adelaide. Confused.
Hi Danni, not quite sure how we crossed the wires there but thanks, we’ve updated the article now. Cheers!
