There is definitely a desire for tapas-style bars — drink a little, eat a little, drink some more, maybe a few more bites — as punters are embracing a more relaxed and casual night out. But it’s not often that tapas bars wholly embrace the San Sebastian style — you might get smaller portions, but the price rarely dips as small as what’s on your plate.
That’s not the case here at Lona and they’re to be commended for it — they’re sending around their spiked eats, and for a small spike it’s $3, for a large one it’s $5. Nice and simple. They’ve got some larger plates too if you need to lock it down, and you might need more sustenance to support yourself working your way through a great list of Spanish, European and Aussie wines.
