Prefuelling proves to be a major factor in Thomas Kelly tragedy


The Sydney Morning Herald today carried a story that outlined the tragic course of events on the night that Sydney teenager Thomas Kelly died in Kings Cross. The story illustrates how Kelly’s attacker, Kieran Loveridge, consumed a large number of drinks on the hour journey from Quakers Hill to Darling Harbour.

It highlights the problem of “prefuelling”.This practice has previously been cited by bar and pub owners as a key factor in alcohol-related assaults.
