Here’s a handy reference book: Spirits Distilled


We wrote about the great reference book on spirits from Mark Ridgwell some time ago, called Spirits Explained. Well, that book has been updated a number of times, and the result is this book, Spirits Distilled.

Ridgwell has spent decades in the spirits business, having worked at some of the big brands, and running his company Taste & Flavour.

The book covers all you need when it comes to spirits and liqueurs production knowledge, from the principles of distillation through to more category specific rules and regulations, as well as how to taste spirits. There’s even a quiz section in the book to help you assess just how far you’ve come along.

It all makes an essential read for the bartender wanting to further their knowledge.
