Have you registered to compete in the Bartender of the Year sponsored by Bacardi & De Kuyper?
Time is running out to register your interest in competing in the country’s toughest test of bartending ability: Bartender Magazine’s Bartender of the Year sponsored by Bacardi & De Kuyper.
It’s the bartending competition that is open to all working bartenders, and known for being a tough test of your ability.
To succeed and come out on top of the competition — like last year’s winner, Lee Potter Cavanagh did — you’ll need to best your peers in terms of knowledge, speed behind the stick, creativity with ingredients, and come up with a showstopping performance in front of a crowd of 500 of the country’s best bar teams, bar operators, and industry professionals. Piece of cake, right?
Take a look at reigning Bartender of the Year, Lee Potter Cavanagh’s tips on the competition here.
The winner this year will win themselves not just bragging rights, but also a trip to Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans. The first round of the competition as always will be the toughest written exam in the country, set to take place once again at Ramblin Rascal Tavern in Sydney on Monday the 19th of September during Sydney Bar Week.
Once you’ve registered to enter we’ll be in touch after the closing date with further details on the second and third rounds, but for those wanting to break into the prestigious Top 8 this year know one thing: the final round will once again be held during the Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards gala dinner at Doltone House on Tuesday the 20th of September.
