Sydney Bar Week kicks off next month on the 16th of September, and it’s going to be five days of great events, parties, and education. There’s 22-plus events happening, and on Tuesday 19 September, you’ll want to get along to this masterclass.
Hendrick’s Master Distiller, Lesley Gracie, has an experimental approach to distilling and constantly looks to push the boundaries of gin, her genius laying in her fascination with flavours and how they work together. To this end, her INNOVATION WORKSHOP during Bar Week will talk through her creative process.
Alongside the Hendrick’s Hot Gin Punch Tournament, this workshop typifies Hendrick’s keen focus of bartender advocacy. Through providing unusual and rare liquids to continually create unfamiliar tasting experiences for curious individuals, Hendricks Gin continues its strong partnership with bartender communities.
At the workshop, bartenders will taste through a number of Lesley’s experiments and innovations with a number of liquids never before tasted, let alone in Australia. Throughout, Lesley will speak of creating connections between liquids, developing concepts to reality and manipulates the perception of texture as she builds flavours together to create award winning combinations.
Looking at this process and the results of her innovations past, present and future, bartenders will learn how her insights can help inform the creative process that happens in their own bars.
