Last Sunday passionate spirits lovers from the public and the trade came together at Restaurant Hubert in Sydney for the annual Indie Spirits Tasting Sydney.

There were more than 150 brands available to taste on the day, from 46 suppliers, and it was also as large a gathering of Australian distilleries under one roof as you’re likely to find, with 26 Australian distilleries greeting the punters with their product.

It was the largest Indie Spirits Tasting event yet, with 420 people through the doors in the afternoon. The Indie Spirits Tasting is an intimate, travelling show of the best craft distilleries and the only show of its kind in Australia, making stops in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.

At the Sydney show, three free panel discussions that busted some booze myths, discussed the ethics and sustainability of buy artisanal spirits, and laid out how to open your own distillery were well attended and shed some light on some great topics.
