Pompier is the French word for firefighter, and this drink is just the cooling, refreshing beverage to quell a burning thirst.
“It’s a really hectic cocktail — it’s low alcohol as well, kind of like a nice long drink if you want to do the whole drinking but not drinking thing,” says Jenna Hemsworth from Sydney’s Restaurant Hubert. “It’s like a vermouth and soda but sweetened with cassis — kind of like a good glass of Ribena. It’s my favourite cocktail that ever existed in the history of ever.”
