Cheers to charity: Campari and Imbibe launch Negroni Week 2018

Campari, Italy’s iconic red apéritif, has joined forces with Imbibe Magazine for the sixth year running to present Negroni Week 2018, in celebration of the iconic Campari-based cocktail. The week-long international charity initiative will take place from the 4th – 10th June 2018, encouraging bars, restaurants and retailers around the world to sign up and get involved to raise money for charitable causes.

The annual event has become an unmissable date in the bartending calendar, growing larger every year, with Negroni Week 2018 set to be the biggest yet. Starting out with 100 participating bars at its launch in 2013, last year’s event welcomed the involvement of 7,770 venues in 60 countries all over the world, such as USA, Argentina, Italy, UK and Australia. Since 2013, the event has raised a phenomenal $US 1.5 million for charitable causes.

The Negroni remains one of the most talked about cocktails in the world, not just as a result of the popularity of classic cocktails, but through new and creative twists on the much-loved staples using modern and innovative methods. As a result, the success of Negroni Week continues to grow year on year, with the cocktail now recognised as the 2nd best-selling cocktail in the world1.

Negroni Week is a charitable programme that puts the power of fundraising into the hands of the participating bartenders, their bars, and Negroni drinkers all over the world. Participating venues will be donating a portion of the sales of Negroni cocktails and related items to over 40 charities. Further celebrating the Campari classic, the initiative will bring Negroni lovers together with a series of local on-premise events.
After Negroni Week is complete, we will tally up how much was raised by all of our participating bars, restaurants and partners. Campari Australia will then match the donation to the charity supported by Australia‘s highest donating individual venue (up to a maximum amount of $5,000) to celebrate and champion your invaluable efforts!

The first 150 venues to sign-up at www.negroniweek.com will receive a Negroni Week POS kit to support their on-premise activities.
