Don’t miss global rum ambassador Ian Burrell’s tour across Australia

To kick off Bar Week this September, Reàl Cocktail Ingredients are excited to host London based Global Rum Ambassador, Ian Burrell, in Australia.

Ian Burrell is one of the most travelled and recognised figures in the cocktail and spirits industry, recently awarded ‘Best International Brand Ambassador’ at the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation 12th Annual Spirited Awards.

With Ian’s knowledge of the cocktail industry, Ian Burrell started working with Reàl in 2010, to help promote their high-end line of puree products. The Reàl Cocktail Ingredients product range allows bartenders to push the boundaries of cocktail creations to new heights. Every product contains up to 40 per cent pure fruit puree blended with all-natural cane sugar to create a product that is ideal for blending and mixing.

Reàl have a range of premium syrups available in Australia including Coco Reàl, Ginger, Blackberry, Blueberry, Agave, and recently launched flavours, Strawberry, Passionfruit and Banana.

Ian Burrell says, “I travel a lot with my role as the Global Rum Ambassador, so Reàl is a fantastic brand to work with as it is sold across 148 countries. Reàl is made from high quality ingredients so as a bartender or mixologist, experimenting with new and traditional cocktails is fun, easy and consistent.

Ian started out working behind bars before being made one of the first bartenders in the UK to be hired to represent a rum brand as an ambassador. His first major International promotion was to help launch Jamaican rums in New Zealand and Australian in the early 2000s. Since then, Ian has become an authority on the spirit, offering masterclasses, seminars, sipping cocktails and judging competitions across seven continent and previously holding the Guinness World Record for the largest organised rum tasting in 2014.

The message Ian spreads is that rum is more than a spirit, it’s a way of life. Ian continues, “Rum is such a versatile spirit so it’s fun to drink and experiment with cocktails. Behind the bar, rum was my favourites and the most exciting spirit to work with as all the best cocktails use rum; Pina Coladas, the Mai Tais, Mojitos.”
