Here’s how The Perfect Blend is celebrating World Bartender Day February 24th

.

A DAY TO CELEBRATE THE CRAFT. A DAY TO CELEBRATE THE BARTENDER.
A DAY DEDICATED TO ONE OF THE WORLD’S OLDEST PROFESSIONS.

Everyone can be a part of the fun and festivities of World Bartender Day  by supporting their local finalist during the week of 10th Feb – 25th Feb.

Each finalist’s venue will be serving their signature creation that allowed them to make it through to their respective Regional Finals of The Perfect Blend Cocktail Competition.

Which bartenders are representing your state? There’s close to 90 finalists! Some bartenders are adding their personal touch to how they are celebrating; here’s a few examples of what’s going on in trade — be sure to check them out and visit www.worldbartenderday.com.

A few highlights from across the country of how our finalists are celebrating World Bartender day.

South Australia

Jin Maekawa,  Kayla Grigoriou, & Jacob Alderdice — Bar Torino
‘’During the week we will have our cocktails available for purchase and $2 from each cocktail will be going to support the Conservation Council SA. This non-profit works on major issues affecting Australia (mainly SA’s) environment, including sustainability, marine conservation biodiversity and water and food recovery. This council works with the Adelaide Sustainability Center that helps run workshops, events and connects people together.

We will also be holding a dinner where the profits will also go to support the Conservation Council SA.

This dinner will consist of 4 spirits and matched food items with a focus on South Australian produce and sustainability of our local flora & fauna. Chef will be using locally foraged and sustainably sourced South Australian native produce that will accompany; Sipsmith Gin, Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Laphroiag Whisky & Hibiki Japanese Whisky. It is $55pp and will be held on Thursday 21st on Feb.”

Tasmania

Rohan Massie & Campbell Nicol — Rude Boy
“We will be donating $3 from every one of our cocktails sold between 10/2 & 24/2 to charities supporting the communities of the Huon Valley affected by the recent (and ongoing) fires.

This support of local people is, in our view, intrinsic to the minimal waste aspect of both our themes (obviously our drinks supply the maximum taste side).”

James Corcraighe — Tomcat
“I have created two commericals!

One is a parody whilst the other is just a short comic.

These will be out on our Facebook page which has a cult-like following with our customers and also advertised on a TV in-house.

A chalkboard and a sign will both be promoting the drink in both the bars the Tomcat features.”

Kiki Day — Hello Gorgeous
“For the promotional aspect of The Perfect Blend 2019 I will be offering my cocktail over the bar at Hello Gorgeous on the dates of 10th Feb – 24th Feb. My activation will include not only the whisky my cocktail is made on, Hibiki Harmony, but a range of the Beam Suntory profile. This is an attempt to not only offer the cocktail to a larger market by creating a range of pricing points but also educate the public on the Beam Suntory profile. I’ll create a tasteful sign to sit on the bar, with information about my cocktail and The Perfect Blend competition.’’

Along with this, I will be promoting the cocktail on my bartending Instagram, liquidwizard__ . Information on where the cocktail is available and the products in it will also be promoted here.

A homage to my hometown, Townsville, and growing up during the mango seasons up north.

“The Good Old North” will be available at Surlys and Rose Campbells from the 10th-24th February.

Come on down, try my cocktail, and listen to my wild stories of growing up amongst mango trees, crocodiles, and braving the North Queensland wet season each year.”
