It seems like it’s just what you do these days: before you open your brand new shiny bar, you hold a pop-up or two. That’s what the Fancy Free lads have done (heck, we saw them in Shanghai doing their thing), and it’s what the guys behind the forthcoming Brisbane bar, the Lucky Duck Club, have been doing as well (their next stop is in Noosa).
And that’s just what the team behind forthcoming Sydney cocktail bar, Double Deuce Lounge, will be doing this weekend.
On Sunday night, for one night only, the Double Deuce Lounge will pop up at Fancy Free in Melbourne. Given that Double Deuce Lounge co-owner Sebastian Soto describes the bar as “a little late 60s, early 70s cocktail lounge… it’s like an ode to the beginning of the golden age of porn,” you can expect some suitably sordid cocktails at the takeover on Sunday night: Fluffy Ducks, Sex on the Beach, and Grasshoppers that have been re-worked by the Double Deuce and Fancy Free teams.
If you’re in Melbourne, make sure you don’t miss it.
