They know how to spend their leisure time up north in Queensland, and given the award-winning success of his Noosa venue Miss Moneypenny’s, Ben Walsh and his Good Times Group sure know how to accomodate people who like to party.
So much so that Walsh has created a kind of mini-precinct all his own in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, with the opening of Miss Moneypenny’s Broadbeach next to his Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner.
Long, refreshing cocktails are the go here at Miss Moneypenny’s — there’s a dedicated G&T list as well as sparkling cocktails — but we particularly like the way they’ve embraced that most problematic yet potentially fun category of drinks: what they’re calling 80s cruise ship drinks. The Pina Colada, Zombie and Grasshopper all get the Moneypenny’s treatment, but we’ll lean into an old school Singapore Sling, thank you very much.
