When the coronavirus shutdown came into effect, we made the decision to put this year’s Bar Awards voting on pause.
As Australia has appeared to flatten the curve, it’s time for us to reopen the voting.
We’ve made one slight change to the voting, however, and that is that the period the Awards cover this year is from June 1 2019 through to March 1 2020.
This means that bars which have opened after March 1 2020 will be eligible in next year’s Bar Awards, which we hope makes it fairer for any bars to have opened since March in the shadow of the looming coronavirus shutdown.
If you’ve previously voted, don’t worry, your vote will still count.
We’ll be announcing the finalists in the September issue of Australian Bartender, with the winners being revealed at the 2020 Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards being held at The Beresford Upstairs on Tuesday 27 October.
