Proof & Company has officially launched the ground-breaking ecoSPIRITS distribution technology in Australia. ecoSPIRITS is an innovative, patent-pending, closed-loop distribution system that nearly eliminates packaging waste in the premium spirits supply chain. By dramatically reducing packaging and transport costs, ecoSPIRITS provides both a powerful cost advantage and a transformative carbon footprint reduction.
In 2020, the world will produce 40 billion glass spirit bottles, generating 22 million tons of carbon emissions. The vast majority of these bottles will end up in landfills as single use glass waste – and the minority that do end up in recycling consume 50% of the energy required to make a new bottle. With each single use glass bottle eliminated, ecoSPIRITS saves at least 550 grams of carbon emissions. This means each cocktail or spirits pour with ecoSPIRITS saves a remarkable 30 grams of carbon emissions.
