Naga Thai – Eagle Street Pier, 45 Brisbane Street, Brisbane

Naga, a four-year passion project, is the latest venue from Brisbane couple Andrew and Jaimee Baturo who own Libertine and are co-founders of The Gresham Bar, Walter’s Steakhouse and Popolo Italian Kitchen & Bar. Naga is in the former Pony space and will be a ‘long-term pop-up’ at Eagle Street Pier while the precinct is redeveloped.

Naga is a modern Thai restaurant and bar seating up to 150 guests. Naga, named for the dragons that stand guard over the many temples and ‘wats’ in Thailand, will feature a roster of modern-day Thai dishes such as Moreton Bay Bug Pad Thai and faves like grilled Pork Neck Salad and Massaman Beef Milk Buns.

The restaurant’s design by Anna Spiro, is a nod to the 60s and 70s with super-bold colours and fabrics, retro objects, voluminous lamps and a ceiling adorned with more than 150 glowing lanterns.

The wide-ranging and smashable drinks list will include fresh and fruity stick drinks, a concise and accessible wine list and house specials like lychee wine, Naga Laga and the signature Nagaroni, all set to a playlist of non-stop 60s and 70s tunes.
