We are so excited about a face-to-face Sydney Bar Week & Bar Awards in 2022. And to add a little bit of extra excitement, we are including two brand new awards this year: Best Distillery Bar and Best Brewery Bar.
So let’s take a look at the new category: Best Distillery Bar. Over the past few years the number of Aussie distilleries has boomed. With that, we have seen these venues expand into fully-fledged bars as the perfect way to showcase the products they distil. To be eligible for this category, the venue must have a distillery on site and they must have a bar that is open to the public.
Dave Spanton, Founder of the Bar Awards says: “We’ve seen these categories explode over the last five years with many great distilleries capitalising and adding bars to their offerings to help with revenue and education.
“It’s a great way for people to experience their favourite brands up close and learn how it’s all made; it helps demystify the whole world of distilling. Many of our local distilleries have been pushing for this award for years.
