Opening in early March, Bar Mammoni is the newest addition to join the collection of laneway food and drinks offered in Quay’s Quarter, Sydney. The cheeky new bar can seat up to 30 people, the majority of which will be in the laneway neighbouring Hinchcliff House (home to Apollonia Bar, Lana & Grana and all part of the same family).
The bar was inspired by the Italian concept of bars being the first and last stop of many people’s days and a central point where the local community often engages together in Italian culture. “We wanted to create a venue where the quality of snacks and drinks is just as good at 7am as it is at 7pm,” says creative director of the venue, Scott Brown.

Bar Mammoni’s menu will offer a menu combining the best of their sister venues, the Grana Bakery and Apollonia, so that guests can grab anything from their first cappuccino of the day to their last cocktail.
Run by the talented pastry-expert Jonny Pisanelli and head chef, Jason Duncan, if you get the chance to stop by at lunchtime, be sure to treat yourself to a slice of their famous 72-hour slow-fermented pizza, topped with the likes of nduja and caramelised onion, proscitto, blue cheese and fig or smoked stracciatella and fennel. Alternatively if you are short on time, you can try some of their juicy, yet spicy lamb-meatballs with house-made piadina, which are available for takeaway, as well as dine in.
If you’re looking for a refreshing end to your day – be sure to stop by for a spritz or a Negroni. House Made Hospitality Beverage Doctor, Jason Williams has pulled together a mighty Italian drinks list.
