Oborozuki, Sydney is a new premium Japanese restaurant found in the heart of Circular Quay, overlooking the beautiful harbour and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

With an immersive service experience, Oborozuki brings to Sydney a “quintessential Kaiseki dining experience” says Bar Manager Aurélien Jeffredo, with an aim to bring classic Japanese culture to its guests through a philosophy of locality, seasonality and simplicity at its core. The multi-course menu at Oborozuki ranges from cold and hot dishes, each one being a “reflection of its time and place with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, simply prepared to allow for their authentic, beauty and flavour to shine”. Focused on the pillars of Omotenashi (authentic Japanese hospitality), Oborozuki offers its guests a luxurious space where one can feel welcomed and treated to a unique evening.

“The menu’s intuitive riffs on classic style cocktails showcase modern techniques and highlight the attention to detail that Aurélien says, “demonstrates the heart of Oborozuki”. The Awamori Martini, featuring ROKU Gin and Haku Vodka, is but one of many highlights of the bar’s cocktail menu.”

In addition to the beautiful and well-crafted decor in the restaurant, Oborozuki also offers x3 bespoke and private Teppanyaki rooms which Aurélien describes as “a luxury experience for the eyes and taste buds”. Using the freshest and finest Australian produce, guests can expect “an engaging and immersive experience” as the chefs demonstrate their skills to create stunning and delicious dishes right before your eyes.

The bar at Oborozuki is spread across two striking levels, its décor is a perfect balance of modern, classy and simplicity, where every seat inside the bar, is positioned to take full advantage of the beauty Sydney City and Harbour.

The Exchange is proud to be supporting the diverse cocktail menu of Oborozuki, which is an example of bringing together classic Japanese flavours using authentic Japanese spirits, namely from the House of Suntory, including ROKU Gin, HAKU Vodka and TOKI whisky. The menu’s intuitive riffs on classic style cocktails showcase modern techniques and highlight the attention to detail that Aurélien says, “demonstrates the heart of Oborozuki”. The Awamori Martini, featuring ROKU Gin and Haku Vodka, is but one of many highlights of the bar’s cocktail menu.

With a wide-ranging, and ever-expanding, back bar focusing sharply on Japanese whisky, the Yamazaki 18yr old and Hibiki 30yr old are but two of many Suntory Whiskies that take pride and place at Oborozuki. Aurélien encourages anyone interested in seeing what his team has to offer as Sydney’s newest premium Japanese restaurant to please get in touch with the venue via their website.
