As Australia’s best bartenders prepare to compete for the title of World Class Australia Bartender of the Year, Diageo Bar Academy is ensuring the wider hospitality community can benefit too.
Ahead of this year’s World Class Bartender of the Year National Finals happening in Melbourne on Monday June 29th, Diageo Bar Academy will host World Class Community Day at CHIN CHIN on Sunday 28th of June to give bartenders a rare opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s most respected names, who will be in town to help crown this year’s World Class Australian Bartender of the Year!
Diageo Bar Academy exists to help bartenders build skills, grow their careers and stay connected to the wider hospitality community. World Class Community Day is bringing this commitment to life, by giving bartenders direct access to World Class Bartender of the Year 2018 Orlando Marzo, internationally renowned bartender and creative Remy Savage, and 2025 Australian Bartender of the Year James Irvine for an afternoon of education, inspiration and industry conversation.
Revisiting the speed round that secured his World Class title in Berlin, Orlando Marzo will share insights into the techniques, preparation and efficiencies that helped him perform under pressure on the global stage.
Remy Savage will explore the intersection of creativity and hospitality, offering his perspective on how intentional drink design, artistic inspiration and guest experience can help bartenders elevate their craft.

The afternoon will conclude with a panel discussion featuring Marzo, Savage and Irvine, examining global bartending culture and exploring what Australian bartenders can learn from the world’s leading venues, as well as discussing what makes Australia’s hospitality scene unique on the international stage.
For Diageo Bar Academy, World Class Community Day is about creating opportunities for connection and learning. By opening access to some of the world’s most influential bartenders, the program allows local hospitality professionals to gain insights, ask questions and engage directly with industry leaders in an intimate setting.
With limited places available, bartenders are encouraged to register early to secure their spot by RSVPing worldclass@sweetandchilli.com.au
