Spirits Platform has been appointed the exclusive Australian distributor for Irish whiskey liqueur Shanky’s Whip, taking over distribution from Amber Beverages Australia.
Effective from 13 July 2026, Spirits Platform has assumed responsibility for the brand across Australia’s on-premise, retail and independent channels.
Created by independent spirits company Biggar & Leith, Shanky’s Whip combines Irish spirits and aged pot still whiskey with natural vanilla and caramel. Distilled in County Cavan and blended and bottled in Ireland, the liqueur is known for its smooth profile, with notes of buttery vanilla, sweet spice and butterscotch, finishing with Irish whiskey character but without the traditional burn.
Launched by Biggar & Leith founders Elwyn Gladstone and Mark Teasdale, the brand is now available in more than 80 countries. The pair previously worked together at William Grant & Sons and Proximo Spirits, helping develop brands including Hendrick’s Gin, The Kraken Black Spiced Rum and Sailor Jerry.
The brand’s name comes from the fictional Irish jockey, Shanky, whose unconventional approach inspired a whiskey liqueur designed to be approachable and easy to drink. Bottled at 33% ABV, Shanky’s Whip can be served as a shot, over ice, with cola or enjoyed neat, offering venues a simple serve that requires little preparation.
For Spirits Platform, the addition of Shanky’s Whip strengthens both its whiskey and liqueur portfolio.

Shanky’s Whip is now available nationally through Spirits Platform in both 700mL and 50mL formats.
