In anticipation of Negroni Week 2026, Campari Academy and Harrison Kenney present BITTER / FUTURE – a Masterclass and Pop-up series exploring how art, design and retrofuturism can inspire the next evolution of one of the world’s most iconic cocktails, the Negroni.
Drawing on Campari’s historic connection to Futurist artists and Harrison’s experience living and working in Paris, this session examines how creative thinking can shape the drinks we make and the experiences we create.
Looking beyond ingredients and technique, BITTER / FUTURE explores how influences from art, architecture, fashion and design can inspire fresh approaches to cocktail creation.
At the heart of the session are three original cocktails developed by Harrison, each inspired by the work of Depero Fortunato, the futurist artist best known for designing the iconic Campari posters.
Through these serves, attendees will gain insight into the creative process behind developing a drink, from initial inspiration through to flavour, presentation and guest experience. Harrison will share the stories, references and ideas that informed each creation, offering practical takeaways that bartenders can apply in their own venues.
Designed for bartenders, hospitality professionals and creative thinkers, this is an invitation to challenge convention, embrace experimentation and reimagine what the Negroni can become.

This weekend, the programme kicks off in Brisbane before travelling to Melbourne on Monday and then Sydney on Tuesday. Following each session, guests will be invited to attend a dedicated BITTER / FUTURE pop-up, where Harrison’s original cocktails will be available to taste.
Blending art, design and retrofuturism, BITTER / FUTURE challenges bartenders to rethink the classic and imagine the Negroni of tomorrow.
