“Personally, I would like to thank the boxers on the night for their stunning grit and display of pugilism. Most importantly, they all enjoyed the experience and left as better people for it.” – Mark Tarrant, Director of Operations Australia, Bartender Boxing Organization
Some of the highlight winners on the night included Jay Cozma from The Baxter Inn taking out the Bar Manager of the Year award, Dylan Howarth and his team from Fortunate Son winning Bar of the Year and the folks from Rude Boy in Hobart taking out the Rum Bar of the Year award. It was also great to see the response to Loic Mouchelin and his team from Santé Cocktail Bar in Toowoomba winning best regional bar.
Taking out the top spot was Stefano Catino of the Maybe Group. He has come off a massive year, winning multiple international awards for Maybe Sammy in Sydney. He was joined in the announcement of the Top 20 by many well-known industry names and newcomers to the list like Cara Devine and Harrison Kenney.
No expense was spared with activations jam packed into the venue with everything from tattoo artists, pinky nails, Mario Kart, live acts, and a passport to delicious cocktail around the venue. An of course, the Bagpipers made their triumphant return. If you missed it, here’s a gallery of shots from the night:
Last night bartenders from across the country gathered at Grain bar to see seven teams from Australia and New Zealand compete for the first Plantation Rum Cup with Teresa Cocktail Bar from Napier, New Zealand taking out the win with their cocktail ‘The Boccioni’s Punch’.
