The past week has seen 45 bartenders put through their paces at the annual Smirnoff Black Copper Cup Semi Finals. Held across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, this year’s educational component was hosted by Agusti Vidal; a freelance perfume consultant from Spain.
The Smirnoff Black Copper Cup Semi Finalists have been announced from almost 200 cocktail entries received. 45 Bartenders will go head to head in March in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney for one of only ten spots to the Copper Cup Final to be held at an ever secret location. Last year’s final saw 10 bartenders jet-set to Thai to compete for top honours.
Smirnoff Black is inviting bartenders to take part once more in the Copper Cup. Entries are set to close on October 31.
Alchemists, and Behind Bars consultants Marco Nunes (QLD), Sean Baxter (VIC) and David Beatty (NSW) have recently been appointed as the 2009 Smirnoff Black Copper Cup ambassadors. All previous competitors in this challenging competition, theses ambassadors will provide mentorship to Copper Cup entrants in their state.
