The Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards is now in its 17th year.
Some of the highlight winners on the night included Jay Cozma from The Baxter Inn taking out the Bar Manager of the Year award, Dylan Howarth and his team from Fortunate Son winning Bar of the Year and the folks from Rude Boy in Hobart taking out the Rum Bar of the Year award. It was also great to see the response to Loic Mouchelin and his team from Santé Cocktail Bar in Toowoomba winning best regional bar.

It’s nearly time for the announcement of all the finalists for the 21st Annual Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards, so here is another sneak peaks in the lead up, your top 12 Whisky Bars in Australia for 2022, as voted by you.
These are the 2022 best rum bars in Australia as voted by you – the Australian bar industry. These bars are all about stocking the best range of rums, serving up delicious rum cocktails, often times with a bit of tiki flair.
There are so many gins on the market these days and what better way to sample them than to visit one of the country’s leading gin bars. At each of these 12 finalist bars, you’ll find a carefully curated gin selection and gin cocktails to match.
This award pays tribute to someone who has made a marked difference to the bar industry through their passion and dedication, and who has had an outsized, positive effect on the industry. This year’s recipient is Martin Lange, a Brisbane bar operator who has been in the hospitality industry for more than two decades.
What goes into a bar becoming a bartender’s bar? It could be the proximation to a bunch of other bars, a late-night license and something to snack on after a shift. Perhaps an extensive back bar, Resch’s on tap and the ability to get a drink into your hand swiftly.
