Cesar’s Rum Punch

This was a famous rum punch back in the day. Guests would flock to the Grand Hotel Oloffson in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to get a taste of this drink from the bartender, Joseph Cesar. Rhum Barbancourt — the national rum of Haiti — is a little hard to get a hold of these days, so give this one from Arcane a go.

Cesar’s Rum Punch

  • 60 ml Arcane Gold Rum ‘Delicatissime’
  • 60 ml lime juice
  • 20 ml Monin Grenadine
  • 5 ml sugar syrup
  • 3 dash Angostura aromatic bitters
  1. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
  2. Garnish to your heart’s content with pineapple, mint, cherry.

Adapted from a recipe by Joeseph Cesar circa 1930’s in Jeff Berry’s Intoxica.
