Though Australia might be in the miserable midst of dreary old winter right now, there’s one cocktail comp that will have you thinking of a warmer climate: witness the return of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge for 2013.
This year the prize for taking out the national final has been bumped up to a cracking $10,000 in cash money and a trip to sunny Trinidad to compete in the global finals. The winner will also secure $5,000 worth of stock for his venue, so there’s incentives all round!
Following on the successful staging of last year’s Gin Mare cocktail competition, called Mediterranean Inspirations, Suntory Australia once again will be sending one talented winner to Spain to partake in the global final and represent their country.
The folks at Posi Pour are inviting bars to get creative and submit a signature cocktail using their range of 1883 Gourmet French Syrups. The winning signature cocktail will be showcased in Australian Bartender’s Staffies page along with the bartender’s name and venue. The winning bar will pick up a dozen 1883 Gourmet French Syrups of their choice while the bartender who came up with the drink will receive a gift bag of assorted bar utensils.
