“The Spritz is one of those simple cocktail templates which provide endless opportunities for riffs for imaginative bartenders. You just need a little bitter, a little sweet, and the all important bubbles.”
“A spritz is always effervescent. Whether its bubble is acquired through soda water, prosecco, some other sparkling wine, or a flavored soda, the spritz would not be a spritz without buoyancy.” – Spritz, Italy’s Most Iconic Aperitivo Cocktail
Lillet (originally Kina Lillet), was created in Bordeaux in 1872. By the 1930s it had started to embed its place in France and the USA as the drink to celebrate with, around the same time the aperitif or bitter wine stepped into the Spritz in Italy.
