Take a look at Darlinghurst’s Casoni

It was with some sadness that we heard the news last year that Foley Lane, a little bastion of sherry and cured meats — and featuring one of our favourite bars to sit at — was closing and being relaunched (by the same owners) as an Italian place.

But with Casoni arising last year, the things we liked about Foley Lane are there in their essence: the drinks (as the food is really an adjunct to the drinks for us) are worth checking out, you can still sit at the bar, and it’s still a beautiful space.

As befits the Italian vibe you can sample amari here after your meal, and they’ve got an Aperol Spritz on tap; less Italian and much more tropical, you could get stuck into a Zachary Daiquiri: banana-infused Flor de Cana 7 Year Old, lime, and muscavado sugar.
