Centro 86 has just launched an inventive new cocktail list and weekly tequila special that puts global flavours and rare spirits in the spotlight.
The new cocktail menu, Viendo Doble (“seeing double”), reimagines classic drinks by pairing them with ingredients from different corners of the world. Highlights include an Amaretto Sour blending Italian amaretto with Japanese umeshu, a smoky Old Fashioned made with Islay whisky and mezcal, and a mango-forward Fizz, featuring mango sake and mango leaf–infused tequila.
MUCHO Group’s, Creative Director Jeremy Blackmore, says this is their way of inviting guests to experience conversation.
“Even with all our differences, humans share so much of what we find delicious. Think of the smokiness that links whisky, mezcal and American barbecue. Flavours can evolve in different places, through different processes, and end up with similar profiles. Finding those connections is one of the secrets to making universally delicious drinks,” said Blackmore.
Alongside it, Centro 86 debuts Tequila de Primera, a Wednesday-only special offering rare tequilas at cost price. Each week features a new pour, celebrating craft, techniques, and distillers within Mexico’s agave world.
“Tequila and its cousins are some of the world’s most complex, extra-special spirits. They reflect the places they come from and resonate with their histories,” said Blackmore.
Both Viendo Doble and Tequila de Primera are now available at Centro 86.
