This brew bridges the gap between beer and cocktails

Melbourne bar The Everleigh has been serving up some of the best cocktails in the country for a while. Now they’re taking a crack at beer.

Brewed in conjunction with Dainton Brewing, the first beer they’re cracking open is their Manhattan Ale, and it’s designed to bridge the gap between cocktails and beer — it’s designed not to replace the cocktail, but to complement it.

The ale is aged in both Tasmanian whisky barrels and French oak shiraz casks, and comes in at 6.9% ABV — not that you’d notice it they say.

The Everleigh’s Manhattan Ale is available through Northdown, Craft Beer Movement, and over the bar at The Everleigh.
