Green Fairy launches Absinth with a lower alcoholic content in the on-premise, Green Fairy 40%.
Quality over quantity is an ever growing trend within the Australian drinking repertoire, fuelling the rise of the cocktail culture and realisation of the true versatility of spirits. Recognising this growing enthusiasm for authentic spirits which create an excellent cocktail base, Green Fairy has introduced a 40% alc/vol absinth to the on-premise market which is softer and immediately more approachable than its original counterpart. At first sip the sweetness of Green Fairy Absinth 40% hits the front of the tongue and sends shock waves to the senses. With a little heat, the story of the spirit unfolds with a wave of classic Absinth herbs; the dry and bitter combination of wormwood, hyssop and anise flood the palate.
“We wanted to create an authentic Czech absinth which provided venues with a more versatile RSA friendly absinth perfect for use as a base spirit in a variety of cocktails throughout the entire evening,” says National Brand Manager Joanne Belford. “Changing liquor laws meant that many consumers were no longer able to enjoy Green Fairy Absinth past midnight in parts of the country, even in a cocktail.”
Made by one of Europe’s oldest distilleries; Green Tree Distillery, Green Fairy Absinth is clouded in the history of The Dark Ages. It is carved out of ancient culture using local woodland ingredients, including one of the oldest and most respected – Wormwood – a prolific herb used in early medicine and witchcraft potions.
It combines wonderfully in a mojito and is refreshing when served with passionfruit, cloudy apple juice and lemon juice over ice.
Distributed by SouthTrade International, Green Fairy 40% is available from February 2016.
