Housed within Melbourne’s grand Hilton on Little Queen Street lays The Douglas Club – a cocktail bar that blends old-world charm with modern hospitality, and the team have just curated a limited time cocktail list to match the venues sophistication.
The new Golden Age of Travel menu will be running until 31 August and was created in partnership with Bruichladdich Whisky and The Botanist Gin. This specially curated list features six cocktails inspired by destinations and landscapes around the world.
The new cocktail line-up reads like a world tour in a glass. Two Four tips its hat to Canadian slang for a case of beer, serving up a smooth yet lively mix of The Botanist Gin, maple, Lillet and orange bitters. For those who prefer their drinks with a kick, Clobber is a hard-hitting blend of Bruichladdich Classic Laddie, rhubarb, Licor 43, Bitteroma and a hint of Bruichladdich Port Charlotte. Gaucho brings a taste of South America, pairing whisky with lemongrass and mate tea in a refreshing tribute to the region’s cowboys.
Rich and sweet, Olifant nods to Africa’s marula fruit-loving elephants, mixing Bruichladdich whisky with Amarula, crème de cacao and espresso for a dessert leaning serve. Mando brings a citrus predominant sip, with a mandarin-forward concoction featuring lemon, ginger, and Sichuan pepper, while Wangi transports drinkers to the tropics, blending The Botanist Gin with pandan, coconut and lime for a fragrant, exotic finish.
And for patrons who want to experience more than one drink on the menu, the Around The World offers a choice of three mini cocktails, for a true global tasting flight.
