Double Deuce Lounge will close its doors on Bridge St within the next few months, with co-owner Sebastian “Cosmo” Soto citing ongoing economic pressures as the reason behind the decision. Soto says the venue has struggled to recover from post-pandemic challenges and dwindling Friday trade, admitting it hasn’t been the same since COVID.
After 6 years and a loyal cult following, Soto revealed they’re already in talks for a new, more compact CBD location – one that keeps the Double Deuce spirit alive, just in a tighter, more resilient space.
While many Sydney venues are struggling to stay afloat, Soto remains proud of what they’ve built. “Sydney is a tough market – so many venues have closed in just the past six months. We’re proud that Rascals has been going strong for 11 years and Double Deuce for 6″ said Soto.
