Enmore’s new late-night music bar – Deadwax

A new late-night music bar, Deadwax, has officially opened in Enmore, brought to you by the team behind OTIS in Sydney’s Inner West – and they’re not just spinning vinyl.

Behind the concept are OTIS owners Dan Teh and Conor O’Brien, joined by chef Daff Blacksmith (ex Riley St Garage and NOLA Smokehouse) and bar manager Kate Howlett.

The drinks list serves playful twists on classics: a rich, nutty Sesame Oil Martini, a Ponzu Old Fashioned with a citrus kick, and a Melon Colada. Alongside the signatures is a strong Japanese whisky lineup, a fridge stacked with 196 cans, and rolling mix of local craft beers.

“We love music. We want to deliver music in the best way we know how. We’ve created a bar for people who also love music – somewhere to share it with your mates, or with complete strangers,” said Teh.

The food menu is tight and bold – wagyu pastrami sandwiches, roe on ‘everything’, and elevated instant ramen bowls set to make an appearance on the menu – with the kitchen serving until last drinks at 1:30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Music is the heartbeat here. Funk, soul, jazz, disco, plus plenty of curveballs drive the Deadwax sound. The space is built for it, with acoustics by Marrickville’s Translate Sound, a wavy patterned ceiling, and a 70-layer denim resin bar top. Expect DJs every weekend and midweek request nights, with tracks pulled from a vinyl library curated alongside Crosstalk Records in Leichhardt.

Deadwax is a love letter to music lovers and late-night drinkers alike – where you can shape the playlist, sip inventive cocktails, and stay well past midnight.

Open Tuesday to Sunday until midnight, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
