Melbourne’s loudest saloon, Moon Dog Wild West, is celebrating its first birthday with a massive celebration, offering 365 free cowboy shots, cocktail specials, live bands, DJs, bucking bulls and more.
In just one year, Moon Dog Wild West has become a local establishment, serving up over 18,000 cowboy shots, pouring more than half a million pots, and playing hours of live music. The famous mechanical bull alone has seen over 35,000 rides. Now, Moon Dog Wild West is marking their one-year milestone with a loud and extravagant party.
The birthday antics kick off from 11:30am, with free cowboy shots being handed out every hour to the first punters to shout “Yee-haw” at the bar staff. Signature drinks will be available, and the bar will offer a full menu of wild west-inspired cocktails all day long.
Expect classics with a Moon Dog twist – spicy tommy margaritas, peachy keen sours, and the Moondog favourite cowpoke old fashioned, made with bourbon, bitters, and a dash of smoked cola syrup. Buckets of Moon Dog seltzers and craft beers will also be available for order.
The rooftop will kick off from 3pm with DJs spinning through the sunset, before Elly McK & The Unbelievers hit the stage from 7pm–9:30pm, bringing country bangers and original songs. DJs will take over again and keep the dancefloor going right through until 1am.
