This Saturday 17 May, Newtown’s beloved drinking destination Bar Planet turns three, and is celebrating with a one-off bash complete with martinis, msg popcorn, and something a little more permanent, a flash tattoo pop-up inside the venue.

The event will feature original designs by Sydney-based tattoo artist Onnie O’Leary, known for her eye-catching flair. With flash tattoos inspired by the venue’s iconic drinks and design details, you can expect inspiration from the David Humphries’ kaleidoscopic terrazzo bar top – to the skyscraper martini topped with seven olives.

Daisy Tulley, Group General Manager at MUCHO, said the tattoo idea was sparked by the venue’s passionate following.

“Over the years we’ve had guests DM us their martini tattoos. We never expected to end up on people’s skin – but it’s been the most unexpected joy. We’ve been fans of Onnie for ages, and this felt like the perfect way to celebrate,” said Tulley.

From 2pm, guests can put their names down for a first-come, first-served session, with tattoos starting at $100.
