World Whisky Day has arrived, and if you needed an excuse to pour something amber or share a dram with a friend – this is it. Celebrated every third Saturday of May, World Whisky Day is all about raising a glass to the timeless spirit that has travelled through centuries.

In Sydney today, Bar Tilda is hosting a one-night-only event kicking off at 5:30pm, with whisky legend Bill Lark. Enjoy guided tastings, canapés, and the launch of the Australian Whisky Embassy, a new club for local whisky lovers.

Join Casa de Vinos, located near South Melbourne Market from 1–5pm for a World Whisky Day Mini Festival. You will get a take-home whisky glass, a tasting passport, and the chance to sample six whiskies from top distilleries.

Perth’s Galway Hooker is keeping things fun and easy with their signature Jameson & Apple on offer all day at a discounted price – a simple, crowd-pleasing way to raise a glass.

Pouring at home? Here are five stand-out whiskies and their tasting notes.
