Cantina OK!’s Margarita Recipe 

As we celebrate World Margarita Day this weekend, there’s no better way to do it than by shaking up a classic from one of Australia’s most respected agave specialists. From Cantina OK! – winner of Tequila Bar of the Year at the Australian Bar Awards – this stripped-back Classic Margarita is all about balance and intent. 

Jeremy Blackmore, Creative Director at MUCHO Group, says the bar’s DNA was built around a single drink, with every design choice flowing from how they wanted guests to experience it. 

‘We built the whole cantina around the Margarita OK! quite literally centering the ice shaver in the space. The drink itself captures so much of what we care about. Lots of small touches and practices that show how much we care about each guest. Hand squeezed lime, freshly shaved ice, a spritz of orange zest, the Margarita OK! is more than the sum of its parts,” said Blackmore.

INGREDIENTS
• 35ml Tequila
• 5ml Mezcal
• 30ml Fresh-pressed Lime Juice
• 15ml Sugarcane Syrup

METHOD
• Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin.
• Add ice, shake.
• Garnish glass rim with salt.
• Shake and strain.
